Climate Action Committee · Meeting of May 20, 2026

Concord's Climate Action Committee votes unanimously to back Vision Zero traffic-safety policy. The committee directed Chair Brad Dye to write a letter to the Select Board supporting adoption of Vision Zero, which aims to eliminate serious injuries and fatalities from vehicle crashes by prioritizing safer walking and biking infrastructure. Linda Nieman of Mothers Out Front presented the policy, noting that Lexington, Brookline, Cambridge, and Boston have already adopted similar plans.

Deputy Town Manager Megan Zammuto reported that once adopted by the Select Board and School Committee, Concord's Decarbonization Roadmap will unlock up to $1 million in state grants for municipal building decarbonization and secure the town's designation as a state Climate Leader.
