Committee unanimously endorses rooftop solar bylaw for municipal buildings

Concord Climate Action Committee backs rooftop solar requirement for new municipal buildings. The committee unanimously endorsed a warrant article for April Town Meeting requiring all new public buildings to include rooftop solar panels in their design. The proposal, developed by the Solar Task Force, aims to integrate solar into construction to reduce operating costs with a payback period of 6 to 8 years.
The town currently operates 7.5 megawatts of solar capacity and expects to add 2.5 megawatts through a landfill expansion this year.
