CONCORD — Heywood Meadow Stewardship Committee held a special 25-year retrospective on February 12. Chair Peter Lee moderated a panel including former members Lynn Huggins, Joanne Gibson, Mary Clarke, and Sandy Smith, along with Natural Resources Director Delia Kaye, tracing the citizen-led campaign from a handful of neighbors to town-wide effort. The presentation documented how multiple meadow tracts were declared conservation land in 2000, halting commercial and municipal development and establishing the committee to manage the protected historic landscape.
Lee presented commemorative photo albums to panel members and Kaye, and recognized Gibson and Clarke as retiring members after 25 years of service. The program was video-recorded for future public access.
