CONCORD — Climate committee backs solar and composting amendments in Town Meeting push. The Climate Action Committee voted unanimously to endorse an amended solar municipal policy article encouraging the Select Board to adopt policy rather than bylaw, with Select Board support. The committee also authorized members to speak in favor of a composting feasibility study article at Town Meeting, to be moved by Shelly Karlin.
In advancing the Climate Action and Resilience Plan update, consultants from Weston and Sampson reported that of 78 action concepts reviewed, 28 received unanimous backing including neighborhood electrification, geothermal networks, Vision Zero transportation policy, forest management, and expanded solar for commercial and institutional buildings.
