Board of Health schedules February emergency shelter drill

CONCORD — Board of Health plans February emergency shelter drill and new inspector hire. Director Melanie Dineen announced a new Public Health Inspector starting February 2 and an emergency shelter drill for February 20 at Harvey Wheeler Center, conducted jointly with the Fire Department and including overnight operations. Board member David Ropeik reported that groundwater testing continues, with 1,4-dioxane identified as the only substance of health concern in the plume.

Public Health Nurse Katie Stanislawzyk reported 93 communicable disease cases in December, with 70 influenza cases trending downward.
