Board of Health approves minutes, welcomes new health initiatives

CONCORD — Board of Health launches public mental health awareness initiative with sunscreen dispensers and Yellow Tulip Project. Public Health Nurse Katie Stanislawzyk announced installation of sunscreen dispensers at the Hunt Recreation Center, Giroux Park, White Pond, and the Visitor Center through partnerships with the Recreation Department, Impact Melanoma, and Emerson Health. The Board is advancing the Yellow Tulip Project, placing yellow tulips at town locations to destigmatize mental health and connect residents with resources via QR codes.
The Health Division launched a new Instagram account and is coordinating a Drug Take Back Day on April 25. Public Health Director Melanie Dineen reported that inspector Michael Funaiole has moved to Sudbury; Maureen Lee from MOJIN will assist with camp and food inspections. The Board issued its largest on-site septic permit, for 9,990 gallons per day at the Thoreau Club.
