Concord bias work group removes focus group deadline, plans town-wide reporting system. The Bias and Hate Incident Reporting Work Group removed the January 2 sign-up deadline for its first community focus group, set for January 13 at Harvey Wheeler building with 20 total slots, to boost community participation. Work group chair Paul Boehm said the group is developing a town-wide bias incident reporting system expected to launch mid-year, and is exploring an interim awareness campaign called ConcordSafe.
Civil rights consultant Dr. Carlos Hoyt Jr. advised the group to pair any reporting system with prevention, education, and community engagement rather than focusing solely on data collection.
