The committee authorized a letter to the Land Use Working Group calling for preservation of Peter Spring Field, authored by Brian Cramer of Hutchins Farm, citing the town's agricultural heritage and critical habitat for the endangered Blanding's turtle. Committee members acknowledged a housing shortage for farmers and tasked Dan Schmid of The Walden Woods Project with gathering specific data for the February meeting.
Stone Soup has donated substantially to a housing foundation project at Barret's Mill Farm and is offering agricultural grants.
